Pair of Plainfield Residents Arrested on Drug Charges After Police Execute Search and Seizure Warrant

On November 18, 2017 at approximately 4:00 AM members of the Plainfield Police Department executed a narcotics related search and seizure warrant at #586 Norwich Rd (Apt #4) in Plainfield. The search warrant was the product of an investigation that was initiated after receiving complaints of the illicit selling of narcotics at that residence. While Officers were making entry into the apartment an occupant of the residence, later identified as 32 year old Michael P. Devost, threw items of evidence out of a third story window in an attempt to avoid police detection. These items were located in the driveway area and ultimately seized as evidence. In addition to Devost, police located three minor children inside of the residence along with a 25 year old female, Deeonna R. Benoit-Bouchard.
During the search of the residence Officers seized approximately 10 grams of heroin, approximately 6 grams of crack cocaine, a small amount of marijuana and packaging materials. Also seized was approximately $2000 in cash. Both Devost and Benoit-Bouchard were subsequently arrested and transported to the Plainfield Police Department without incident. The State of Connecticut Department of Children and Families also responded to residence to assist with the minor children.
Devost was charged with POSSESSION OF HEROIN, POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO SELL, POSSESSION OF CRACK COCAINE, POSSESSION OF CRACK COCAINE WITH INTENT TO SELL, POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, RISK OF INJURY TO A MINOR (3 COUNTS), DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY DURING A SEARCH WARRANT and POSSESSION OF < ½ OUNCE OF MARIJUANA. Devost was held on a $50,000 cash bond pending his arraignment in Danielson Superior Court on 11/20/17.
Benoit-Bouchard was charged with POSSESSION OF HEROIN, POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO SELL, POSSESSION OF CRACK COCAINE, POSSESSION OF CRACK COCAINE WITH INTENT TO SELL, POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, RISK OF INJURY TO A MINOR (3 COUNTS) and POSSESSION OF < ½ OUNCE OF MARIJUANA. Benoit-Bouchard was also held on a $10,000 cash bond pending her arraignment in Danielson Superior Court on 11/20/17.
