Pachaug Campgrounds Close After Detection of Eastern Equine Encephalitis

Two area campgrounds have been forced to close by the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection after Eastern Equine Encephalitis was detected in mosquitoes that were trapped by the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station.

The Mount Misery campground as well as Frog Hollow Horse Camp. DEEP took action after consulting with the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station (CAES) and the Department of Public Health. The campgrounds are closed until further notice.
