As First Selectman of the Town of Griswold, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Congressman Courtney for the introduction of his bill, the Opioid and Heroin Epidemic Emergency Supplemental Appropriation Act, that which requests $600 million in emergency funding for states to combat the opioid and heroin abuse epidemic.  I would like to thank Congressman Courtney for assisting communities from his district that are affected by this national public health emergency.  I am honored to be asked by Congressman Courtney to attend a meeting with Griswold PRIDE members and other advocates in his office on the bill introduction day to discuss what we’re doing at the local level to combat overdoses in our community.  The sincere efforts of Congress are greatly respected and appreciated and are to be commended.

Kevin Skulczyck,

Griswold First Selectman
