Officers Apprehend Person of Interest in Manchester Bank Robbery

According to Troop H, off-duty Officer Nohelty noticed a vehicle which was recently used in a bank robbery on May 25, 2017 at approximately 1:25 a.m. Officer Nohelty contacted troopers from the Hartford barracks as well as Manchester Police and sent them to Hawthorn Motel located at 191 Spencer St. in Manchester. There officers quickly captured Mervin Bundy (D.O.B. 9/17/74) of Willimantic as he tried to elude capture. Bundy was found to be in possession of U.S. currency, narcotics and was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troop H processed him and he will appear in Manchester Superior Court this morning. He has been charged with Operation of a Moving Vehicle with Reg/Lic Suspended; Reckless Driving; Not Greater than 85mph; Disobeying SIgnal of and Officer; 1st Offense; Operating Under the Influence of Drugs/alcohol. Drug paraphernalia; and Illegal Possession of Narcotic. His bond is $100,000.
