An investigation is currently being carried out by Hebron police following an incident yesterday. On the evening of Tuesday, June 6th, Trooper First Class Greenwood was assisting the Town of Manchester with a “Take Into Custody Order” for a juvenile. The troopers waited for the juvenile to appear on East Street. The particular juvenile showed up, driving a motor vehicle that was confirmed to have been stolen from Manchester. Officer Wagner of the Manchester Police Department attempted to box the vehicle in a private driveway, but the juvenile backed up and drove forward into the door of the cruiser. When the juvenile struck the door, the officer had been standing between the open door and the driver’s compartment. This resulted in the officer suffering minor injuries. The operator then drove away and was spotted by another trooper. When this officer attempted to stop the car, the vehicle fled the scene at a high rate of speed onto I-384.
Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of the vehicle involved is asked to contact Troop K at 860-465-5400. It has been described as a black 2001 Mercedes E320. The vehicle bears the plate number CT AH98067
