On October 7, 2017 at approximately 6:20 PM, an off-duty Troop D QLTF Trooper was shopping at Target in Killingly when he observed a shoplifting in progress. The off-duty Trooper observed a male push a shopping cart loaded with a TV and sound bar out of the store without paying, causing the security alarm to go off. When the alarm went off, the male took off running across the parking lot. The Trooper sprinted after him and caught up to him in the Lowe’s parking lot and placed him on the ground. Several good samaritans ran over and assisted the Trooper until on-duty Troopers showed up on scene and handcuffed the accused. Theodore Cyr-Patridge (DOB 03/25/1994) of Sayles Avenue, Dayville was placed under arrest and transported to Troop D. Cyr-Patridge was charged with larceny and held on a $2500 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on October 10, 2017. Troop D would like to thank the good samaritans that assisted the off-duty Trooper with this apprehension, your help was greatly appreciated.
