While Connecticut State Troopers were attending to a toy drive for the Tommy Toy Fund at the Lisbon Walmart, it was learned that a person had left his wallet at a self checkout station The victim returned to retrieve the wallet but only to find that there was approximately $600 missing inside it.
Walmart loss prevention was able to assist Trooper Adams, the Lisbon Resident State Trooper, in identifying the person who had stolen the money out of the wallet. The cash was recovered. The accused, Peggy Wheeler of Norwich was charged with 5th degree larceny. Bond and court were not released.
The good news is that the toy drive that day was quite successful filling seven large carts of toys as well as a couple of bicycles! Great job all around Troop!
