Norwich Road Collision Sends 3 to Hospital

On 08/03/2016 at approximately 4:10 P.M. members of the Plainfield Police Department came across a two car vehicle accident in the area of Norwich Road North of Cemetery Road. Members of the Plainfield Fire Department and American Legion Ambulance also responded. Vickki Wells, 50 years old, of Plainfield, CT was operating her 2004 Green Saturn Vue North on Norwich Road when she stopped in the roadway to turn onto Terrace Drive. While awaiting oncoming traffic to pass, she was struck from behind by Tanya Nadeau, 25 years old, of Moosup, CT. Nadeau was operating her 2015 red Mazda CX-5 North on Norwich Road behind Wells when she began to become light headed and was unable to stop in time when she realized Wells had stopped in front of her. A collision subsequently occurred. Wells also had a passenger in the vehicle, Miranda Benjamin, 19 years old, of Hamden, CT. All parties involved in the accident were subsequently transported to Plainfield Backus Emergency Department for suspected minor injuries. This accident remains under investigation.
