On March 10th there were 2 fatal car accidents in Eastern Connecticut. One occurred on I-395 in Norwich in the area of exit 11 where 23 year old Joshua Prince from Uncasville veered off the roadway to the left into the grass and struck a metal reflector post. The car, a 2014 Chevy Impala came back onto the roadway across the left lane. The car then veered back into the median and struck a metal guard rail which caused the vehicle to roll then struck a bridge which made the car spin counter clockwise before coming to a final rest between the ridge pillars. The 23 year old was pronounced dead on scene.
Another happened later on that evening just before 11 PM in Preston where 60 year old Demir Prevalla of Watertown was traveling east on Harris Fuller Rd. As he approached a left curve, Prevalla and his 2000 Mercury went off the right shoulder for an unknown reason. The car then went up an embankment before hitting a DOT sharp turn sign. The Mercury went airborne briefly just before hitting a tree. The car spun around the tree clockwise before coming to a final rest on its side against the tree. Prevalla was pronounced dead due to injuries sustained in the accident. Both accidents remain under investigation.
