Newly Proposed Jewett City Park to Cost Big Bucks

Conceptual plans were presented at last nights Board of Selectman meeting regarding building a new park on School St in Jewett City as part of the Heritage River Walk. ┬áThe presenter stated that the park had great potential and great scenic value. ┬áThe plans included 2.5 acres of space, 29 parking spaces, 4 handicapped, a looped pathway for walking, handicapped accessible fishing pier and playground area, as well as a large lawn with a staging area for events….There was also a bridge in the plans that would connect with Burleson lane to get to veterans memorial park…the estimated cost for the park would be in the area of almost 2 million dollars.
