Newly Proposed Jewett City Park to Cost Big Bucks

Conceptual plans were presented at last nights Board of Selectman meeting regarding building a new park on School St in Jewett City as part of the Heritage River Walk. The presenter stated that the park had great potential and great scenic value. The plans included 2.5 acres of space, 29 parking spaces, 4 handicapped, a looped pathway for walking, handicapped accessible fishing pier and playground area, as well as a large lawn with a staging area for events….There was also a bridge in the plans that would connect with Burleson lane to get to veterans memorial park…the estimated cost for the park would be in the area of almost 2 million dollars.
