Multiple Departments Respond to Plainfield 2 Car Crash

On October 8, 2017 at approximately 9:30am, members of the Plainfield Police Department, Atwood Hose Fire Department, American Legion Ambulance and Mortlake Ambulance responded to a two car motor vehicle crash on Putnam Road at its intersection with Blueberry Lane.

Through investigation it was determined that a 2003 Mercury Sable operated by 55 Year old David Gilmore, of Wauregan, was traveling westbound on Blueberry Lane when he made a left turn onto Putnam Road. A 1999 Honda Accord, which was being operated by 31 Year old Mark Obrien of Dayville was traveling northbound on Putnam Road and struck Gilmoreā€™s vehicle.

Both operators sustained injuries from the crash and were transported via Ambulance. Obrien was transported via American Legion Ambulance to the William Backus Hospital in Norwich. Gilmore was transported via Mortlake Ambulance to Day Kimball hospital.

This crash remains under investigation.
