Multi Unit Apartment Fire Leaves One Dead in Overnight Plainfield Fire

On January 10, 2022 at approximately 2:58 A.M., the Plainfield Police Department, Town of Plainfield Fire Marshal’s Office, American Legion Ambulance, Central Village, Plainfield, Moosup, Atwood Hose, and several neighboring fire departments responded to a four family dwelling structure fire located 107, 109, 111 and 113 Sachem Drive in the Central Village section of Plainfield, Connecticut.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel began evacuating residents and suppressing the fire. Upon the suppression of the fire, one individual was located within and pronounced deceased. The Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit was subsequently requested to the scene to assist in the investigation.

The fire remains under investigation by the Town of Plainfield Fire Marshal’s Office, the Plainfield Police Department, and the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit.
