MotorSports Shoplifters Get Nabbed 1 Mile From Store

On July 29, 2020 at approximately 2:39 P.M., members of the Plainfield Police Department were dispatched to Motorsports Nation located at 982 Norwich Road in Plainfield after receiving a 911 call stating a male and a female attempted to steal merchandise from the store and upon being confronted by employees attempted to flee in a vehicle striking a curb in the parking lot subsequently fleeing on foot without the merchandise prior to police arrival.
Members of the Plainfield Police Department arrived on scene and gathered a description and direction of travel of the two individuals that fled. Officers conducted patrol checks of the area and located Thomas Kuutila, 29, of Wauregan and Colleen Webb, 35, of Norwich exiting woods on Lathrop Road Extension a mile away from Motorsports Nation. An investigation was conducted where Kuutila was found to be in possession of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia.
Kuutila was placed under arrest and charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Larceny 4th, Interfering with an Officer, Possession of Narcotics, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Kuutila was released on a $2500.00 bond and is scheduled to appear at Danielson Superior Court, G.A. 11, on August 24, 2020.
Webb was placed under arrest and charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Larceny 4th and Interfering with an Officer. Webb was released on a $1000.00 bond and is scheduled to appear at the Danielson Superior Court, G.A. 11, on August 24, 2020.
