Motor Vehicle Stop Leads to Drug Arrest in Plainfield

PLAINFIELD SEAL

On August 20, 2016 at approximately 8:00 PM, Members of the Plainfield Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Railroad Avenue in Plainfield, CT. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Brandon A. Mazuraitis (W/M DOB 08/03/1993) of 7 Ann Street Plainfield and was operating a 2006 blue colored Acura TL. During investigation of the MV stop, Mazuraitis was removed from his vehicle and a search of his vehicle and his person was conducted. Mazuraitis was subsequently arrested for being in possession of approximately 330 bags of Heroin, approximately $ 2000.00 in cash, less than a ½ OZ of Marijuana and an Air Pistol located next to the bulk of the Heroin. Upon Processing Mazuraitis back at the station, an addition 65 Oxycodone 30mg were found hidden in his groin area.

Subsequently the accused Brandon A. Mazuraitis (W/M DOB 08/03/1993), was charged with (2 counts) of Possession of Narcotics (21a-279 (a)), (2 counts) of Possession Of Narcotics WITS (21a-278(b)), (2 counts) of Possession of Narcotics within 1,500 feet from a school (21a-279(d)), (2 counts) of Possession of Narcotics WITS within 1,500 feet from a school (21a-278a(b)), Failure to Keep Narcotic in Original Container (21a-257), Possession of Less than ½ ounce of Marijuana (21a-279a 1st), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (21a-267(d)), Weapon in a Motor Vehicle (29-38), Failure to Wear Seatbelt (14-100a(c)) and Failure to have Stop Lamp (14-96e).

The accused was able to secure his bond and is scheduled to appear at the Danielson Superior Court GA-11 on September 6, 2016.
