More Layoffs Coming to Connecticut

Governor Malloy’s proposed layoff of state employees as part of the state budget is moving closer to his 2,500 personnel being given pink slips. Another round of layoffs has been announced in the executive branch. Another 238 employees will be given lay-off notices, which brings the new total lay-offs handed out by the Malloy administration to 1,064. Previously 825 state employees have been laid off from the Department of Children and Families, the Department of Corrections, the Department of Developmental Services, Department of Mental Health and Additional Services, University of Connecticut Health Center and several others.
