On July 16, 2020 at approximately 8:05 PM, members of the Plainfield Police Department along with the Moosup Fire Department and American Legion Ambulance responded to the area of 58 Plainfield Road in the Moosup section of Plainfield for a report of a motor cycle that had crashed into a fence.
A 2015 Ford Focus being operated by 22 year old Holly Chalifoux of Moosup was traveling westbound on Plainfield Road. A 2019 Honda CBR 600 being operated by 32 year old Kevin Sheehan of Moosup was following closely behind the Ford Focus in the westbound lane of Plainfield Road. As both vehicles rounded the corner in the area of 58 Plainfield Road, Chalifoux pulled her vehicle over to the right side of the roadway and came to a stop. Sheehan attempted to avoid colliding with Chalifoux’s Ford Focus but traveled off of the right side of the roadway onto a grassy berm and lost control of the motorcycle. Sheehan’s motorcycle subsequently struck a traffic control sign and wooden stockade fence and he was ejected.
Sheehan was subsequently transported by members of the American Legion Ambulance to the Plainfield Backus Emergency Room in Plainfield for treatment of suspected injuries related to the crash.
Sheehan was later issued an Infraction for Following too Closely.
This crash remains under investigation.
