On July 16, 2020 at approximately 9:21 PM, officers of the Plainfield Police Department responded to the area of Pizza Pizzaz located at 24 Prospect Street in the Moosup section of Plainfield after an individual called 911 to report that he was assisting a female out to her vehicle when a white male wearing a white tank top and shorts had pulled a knife on him.
At approximately 9:24 PM, officers located a male matching the description provided by the caller who was subsequently detained. The male identified himself as 32 year old Kyle Conners of Moosup. A folding knife was located on Conners’ person and he later admitted to brandishing the knife because he felt he was about to be assaulted.
Through further investigation, it was determined that Conners had approached and harassed a female occupant of a vehicle in the Pizza Pizzaz parking lot. The female party reported the incident to employees of Pizza Pizzaz and was later escorted to her vehicle. As the female attempted to exit the Pizza Pizzaz parking lot, Conners ran towards her vehicle. A verbal argument ensued between Conners and the female occupant, at which time a concerned Pizza Pizzaz employee attempted to intervene resulting in Conners brandishing a knife and threatening the employee. Conners then left the scene.
Conners was subsequently arrested and charged with Breach of Peace 2nd Degree, Threatening 2nd Degree, and Reckless Endangerment. Conners was later released on a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at the Danielson Superior Court on August 17, 2020 at 8:30 AM.
