Moosup Man Arrested For Insurance Fraud

On February 20, 2019 at approximately 4:39 PM members of the Plainfield Police Department arrested 44 year old Sawn Tatro at 43 Plainfield Road in the Moosup section of Plainfield, Connecticut, for Falsely Reporting an Incident, Providing a False Statement and Insurance Fraud.  

On October 22, 2019, Tatro reported that some items were stolen from his residence at 2 Pond Street, Moosup, CT. Throughout investigation it was discovered that the larceny reported by Tatro did not occur. Tatro made an insurance claim to ALLSTATE reporting the same incident with a total loss of approximately $15,000. Officers were able to contact ALLSTATE and made them aware of the false report prior to any payments being made to Tatro. Tatro later confessed that he had staged the larceny report and wanted money to buy new items for his residence. 

Tatro was transported to the Plainfield Police Department where he was processed and held on a $2,500 cash/surety bond. Tatrois scheduled to appear at the State of Connecticut Superior Court Geographical Area 11 on February 21, 2019.
