On July 13, 2017 at approximately 12:32 AM members of the Plainfield Police Department, Moosup Fire Department, and American Legion Ambulance responded to a one car motor vehicle crash which occurred at the intersection of Squaw Rock Road and High Street in the Moosup section of Plainfield.

Upon arrival it was determined by officers on scene that 35 year old Alyson Wheeler  was operating a 2006 Ford F350 westbound on High Street when she failed to stop at a stop sign, consequently causing the vehicle to travel through the intersection and off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle then continued straight striking a parked motor vehicle and then a residence on Squaw Rock Road. Wheeler was carrying two passengers 51 year old Michael Roberts  and 35 year old Karl P. Lamphere who were transported along with Wheeler to the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT for possible injuries. Due to the damages of the residence a Building Inspector was called to the scene to make sure the residence was safe.
