Massachusetts Man Picked Up for Stafford Robbery

On March 17, 2020, Troop C in Tolland received a 911 call from a clerk at the “Sara Mini Mart” in Stafford reporting that the store has just been robbed, and the suspect showed that he had a gun. Troopers immediately responded to the scene. Troopers canvassed the neighborhood and also conducted interviews on scene. The Eastern District Major Crime Squad out of Troop C was requested and assumed the investigation.
EDMC Detectives applied for a warrant for 37 year old Daniel Kingsbury of Hampden, Ma, charging him with 1st degree robbery, 6th degree larceny, and 2nd degree breach of peace.
Kingsbury did turn himself in to EDMC detectives at the Somers Resident Troopers office and was taken into custody without any incident. He was transported to Troop C barracks where he was charged with the charges listed above.
Kingsbury was then taken to Hartford Correctional where and held on $75,000 bond and will be held there until his March 23rd court date at Rockville Superior Court.
EDMC Troopers were assisted by the Hampden Ma. Police Department, Constables from the Stafford Resident Troopers office as well as by the Division of Scientific Services and Media Enhancement Unit.
