Many Unfortunate Accidents With Fatalities Over the Past Weekend

A motorcycle crash claimed the life of a Montville man this past Sunday afternoon. 42 year old Frank Barabas Jr. The crash happened on Boston Post Rd at approximately 4:45 PM with another car on Boston Post Rd. The road was shut down until 8:30 in the area of Four Mile River Rd and North Bridebrook rd. Barabas Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene.
There was one 4 injured and 1 fatality after a head-on collision on South Canterbury Road on Friday afternoon. , a Dodge Grand Caravan was traveling north when it collided head-on with a Land Rover traveling south. The driver of the Dodge, 50-year-old Vivian Sanchez, sustained fatal injuries on scene. There were two toddlers and one child in the car. The three children from the Dodge and driver of the Land Rover were transported by ambulance to Backus Hospital in Norwich. Route 169 was closed in the area of Phinney Lane for several hours while police investigated the scene, but has since reopened. LifeStar was requested to the sight of the accident.
Sadie Ensling of Ledyard died after a Route 2A crash that sent her car into a Preston pond, 36 year old Sadie Ensling, was traveling west on the 2A her vehicle struck a guardrail before landing upside down in Poquetanuck Pond. Another driver, Brian Williams who avoided being hit by Ensling, went into the water and pulled her from her vehicle and performed CPR… Ensling was pronounced dead at Backus hospital… Williams, was treated for minor injuries.
