Local Moosup Business Handed Hefty Fine for Littering

On October 18, 2020 the Town of Plainfield received a complaint of illegal dumping occurring at the former Kaman Aerospace Corporation located on South Main Street in the Moosup section of Plainfield. The debris illegally disposed of included tires, furniture, and fluorescent lighting amongst other materials.

Town of Plainfield 1st Selectman Kevin Cunningham was notified of the debris immediately having it removed and properly disposed of. The Plainfield Police Department was notified by Cunningham who requested law enforcement action be taken. An investigation ensued and due to easily identifiable items being discovered Officers were able to trace the debris to Sinclair Auto Palace located on 11 Main Street in Moosup.

Officers made contact with the business owner, 50 year old Aldrenia Gibbs-Davis of Groton, who was subsequently issued an Infraction for Littering with a penalty of $212.00.

Plainfield Police added in their press release: “The Town of Plainfield and Plainfield Police Department takes pride in its community and thank all those who assisted in this investigation.”
