On April 10, 2017 at approximately 1:20 AM, Troop D Troopers responded to a one car motor vehicle accident on Wilson Road in the Town of Putnam. Troopers arrived on scene and conducted an investigation which revealed that the vehicle involved in the accident was traveling east on Wilson Road when it left the travel lane and struck a stone wall. Troopers discovered that the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured. Also, the registration plates that were on the vehicle belonged to a different vehicle. Troopers also became suspicious that the operator was under the influence and conducted field sobriety tests in which the accused party did not perform to standard. 25 year old Harrison Wootton of Woodstock was arrested without incident and transported back to Troop D. Wootton was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to have insurance, misuse of plates, failure to drive in the proper lane and operating under the influence of alcohol/drugs. Wootton is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on April 20, 2017 after being released on a $500 bond.
