Lamont Issues New Fines For Violating Mask Order In Connecticut

On Monday, September 14, 2020, Gov. Ned Lamont announced a new set of fines if residents aren’t following the mask order set in place. These fines can be issued by law enforcement, local elected officials such as a Mayor or First Selectman, and the local public health official.

The fines are as follows:

$100 for violating the mask order
$500 for organizing an event that exceeds size limits
$250 for people attending these events that exceed limits on attendance.
Limits to gatherings are 25 people indoors and 100 people are allowed for outdoor gatherings.
