Lady Wolverines Score 14 in 1st Inning En Route to 19-0 Win

Julia Janca didn’t allow a single run as Wolverines defeated Wheeler 19-0 on Wednesday. Janca allowed just one hit. Wolverines secured the victory thanks to 14 runs in the first inning. The offensive onslaught by Wolverines was led by Kamryn Gurnee, Cheyenne Zvingilas, Sarah Aviles, Hailey Hill, Kaitlyn Davis, and Maya Waldron, who all drove in runs. A single by Marissa Bergel in the first inning was a positive for Wheeler. Janca earned the win for Wolverines. She allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking zero. Julia Ahern took the loss for Wheeler. She surrendered 19 runs on ten hits over two innings, striking out one. Wolverines collected 11 hits. Madison LaBossiere and Davis all managed multiple hits for Wolverines. Davis and LaBossiere all had two hits to lead Wolverines. Wolverines didn’t commit a single error in the field. Janca had the most chances in the field with two. Bergel went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Wheeler in hits.
