Lady Wolverines Get Back In The Win Column Against Bacon Academy

Julia Janca had all the right stuff on Friday for Griswold, shutting out Bacon Academy by a score of 12-0 stopping a 2 game losing streak.

Griswold secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the sixth inning.  The offensive onslaught came from walks by Hailey Hill and Samantha Falco, a triple by Cheyenne Zvingilas, a groundout by Sarah Aviles, and a double by Kaitlyn Davis.

Griswold opened up scoring in the second inning, when Kaelin Waldron grounded out, scoring one run.

The Wolverines tallied eight runs in the sixth inning.  The offensive firepower by Griswold / Wolverines was led by Hill, Falco, Davis, Zvingilas, and Aviles, who each had RBIs in the inning.

One bright spot for Bacon Academy was a single by Julia Grottole in the first inning.

Janca earned the win for Griswold. She surrendered no runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out eight and walking zero.

Julia Baehr took the loss for Bacon Academy. She surrendered 12 runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out three.

Griswold collected eight hits on the day.  Davis, Zvingilas, and Kamryn Gurnee all managed multiple hits for The Wolverines.  Davis led Griswold going 3 for 4.

Megan Glover went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Bacon Academy in hits.
