Lady Wolverines Elimimate Fitch in ECC Tournament Play

Wolverines took the lead late in the game in a 9-4 victory over Fitch High School on Thursday. The game was tied at four with Wolverines batting in the bottom of the sixth when Kaitlyn Davis singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Wolverines earned the victory despite allowing Fitch High School to score three runs in the fifth inning. Fitch High School’s big inning was driven by a triple by Allison Georgetti, a single by Karley Movaus, and a double by Olivia Carney. Wolverines got things moving in the first inning. Maya Waldron grounded out, scoring one run. Waldron was the winning pitcher for Wolverines. She lasted seven innings, allowing ten hits and four runs while striking out six and walking one. Ellie Hohlfeide took the loss for Fitch High School. She went six innings, allowing nine runs on ten hits and striking out two. Wolverines tallied ten hits in the game. Cheyenne Zvingilas, Madison LaBossiere, Kamryn Gurnee, and Davis each racked up multiple hits for Wolverines. Davis, Gurnee, LaBossiere, and Zvingilas each collected two hits to lead Wolverines. Gurnee led Wolverines with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with five stolen bases. Movaus led Fitch High School with three hits in four at bats.
