Labossiere Named As Principal Of Griswold Middle School

Griswold Public Schools is thrilled to announce that Mr. Glenn LaBossiere has been selected as the Principal of Griswold Middle School. Mr. LaBossiere started his career in Griswold Public Schools in 1995. He was a Physical Education teacher and coach for many years at Griswold High School. Mr. LaBossiere was named the Athletic Director of Griswold Public Schools in 2011 and served successfully in that administrative role for 3 years. In 2014, Mr. LaBossiere took on the role of Assistant Principal of Griswold Middle School and became immersed in several academic initiatives that focused on student achievement and instructional improvement. Well-respected by students, parents, and community members, Mr. LaBossiere has also earned the respect of the educational leaders with whom he has worked. NESDEC Executive Search Consultant and retired Griswold Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Betty Osga noted in her recommendation letter that Mr. LaBossiere is “forthright, honest, and trustworthy.” Clinton Public Schools Superintendent Maryann O’Donnell emphasized that Mr. LaBossiere “brings a leadership understanding and background” necessary for a successful principal. Parents, teachers, administrators, BOE members who participated in committee interviews reiterated that Mr. LaBossiere has knowledge “about the town and community, which is very important.” Mr. LaBossiere holds a B.S. in Physical Education from Eastern Connecticut State University; an M.S. in Special Education from Southern Connecticut State University; and the administrative certification, 092, from Sacred Heart University. Mr. LaBossiere, his wife and 3 daughters live in Griswold.
