Knights INN Resident Gets Sniffed Out For Drugs In Plainfield

On January 3, 2020 at approximately 12:48 A.M., the Plainfield Police Department arrested Ronald Mccrary, 52, of the Knights Inn, 66 East Main Street, Room 122, Central Village, CT.

While conducting traffic enforcement in the area of East Main Street an Officer observed a black Dodge Ram pickup truck entering the Knights Inn parking lot. The Officer observed that the vehicle failed to have its registration plate illuminated.

A motor vehicle stop was conducted in the parking lot of the Knights Inn. An investigation was conducted where Mccrary was found to be in possession of a small amount of Marijuana while inside the vehicle. Officers became suspicious that Mccrary was in possession of illegal drugs on his person, Mccrary was then asked to exit the vehicle.

The Officer and his K-9 Vail, a male yellow Labrador trained in narcotics detection was used to sniff Mccrary where K-9 Vail alerted to the presence of narcotics. Mccrary subsequently retrieved from his pants a plastic baggy containing crack cocaine. A large sum of U.S. currency was also located in Mccrary’s boot and seized.

Mccrary was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell and Possession of Less than 1/2 Oz. of Marijuana. Mccrary is currently being held at the Plainfield Police Department on a $30,000.00 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned at the Danielson Superior Court, G.A. 11, on January 3, 2020.
