Jewett City Woman Arrested After Telling Trooper’s She Was Someone Else

A Jewett City woman who gave he name and identity of someone she knew is facing impersonation and forgery charges during a traffic stop. 26 year old Macala Marks, of 144 Slater Ave, Jewett City, was pulled over on I-395 in the vicinity of exit 28 by Connecticut State Police when the incident occurred Sunday night.
Troop D received a complaint from the person that Marks named to her self. Police made the determination after an investigation was performed. Police found Marks at her residence and was taken into custody.
Marks was initially charged with reckless driving which resulted in the traffic stop by police.
The forgery charge is a felony charge, the others are misdemeanors. Marks was released on a promise to appear and is due in court on August 13, 2018 to face the aforementioned charges.
