Jewett City Savings Bank To Unveil Sunflower Mural

August 20, 2018, the Jewett City Savings Bank is planning an unveiling of it’s brand new Sunflower Mural, located on their ATM Machine at their home office on Main St in Jewett City.  The ceremony, which is being planned by Griswold Economic Development Chairman, Tom Giard, will start at 10:00 AM.

Bank President and CEO Kevin Merchant states,  “As part of our mission of giving back to the community, Jewett City Savings Bank is very proud be the first to participate in the Griswold Sunflower Mural Program to help recognize Griswold as the Sunflower Capital of New England. We’re hoping that other businesses in the Borough follow our lead to help make our downtown area an attractive destination for town residents and visitors alike.”

The project which has been spearheaded by the Economic Development Commission.  EDC Chair, Tom Giard added regarding the first mural,  “This event on the 20th marks another step in the plan to establish Jewett City Main Street as a destination to visit.”
