Early Friday evening at approximately 7pm, Jewett City Resident State Trooper Adam Chittick stopped a car on I-395 for reckless driving. Trooper Chittick began dialogue with the female operator, and after she gave a false name, she sped off. Trooper Chittick followed for a short distance in heavy rain conditions but ended his pursuit when the suspect entered Troop D’s jurisdiction. Trooper Chittick then gave a description of the vehicle and the female operator. Based on Trooper Chittick’s report to Troop D, a Quality of life Task Force trooper believed the operator was 26 year old Lynn Navan of Putnam.
Troopers made contact with Navan and they convinced her to meet them and a Plainfield Police Department Sergeant. At that time, Navan was taken into custody for motor vehicle and criminal violations. During the arrest, Troopers then located numerous bags of heroin in Navan’s purse. The Jewett City Resident Trooper Adam Chittick then transported Navan to Troop E in Montville where she was charged with driving with a suspended license, giving a false name to an officer, possession of narcotics as well as other charges.
Navan was arrested in Lisbon at a Dunkin Donuts back in March of 2016 on narcotics possession after a concerned citizen called State Police when they felt that she was acting in an irrational manner. You can read that story by clicking the following link:
Lynn Navan was held an $50,000 cash/surety bond and will appear in Norwich Superior Court on May 8th, 2017. No other information is available at this time. Wolverine Radio will continue to follow this as it develops.
