Jewett City Man Charged In Chucky’s Mobil Attempted Robbery and Home Burglary

Jewett City resident Garrett Loubier has been charged with the attempted robbery of Chucky’s Mobil on the corner of Main St and Slater Ave in the borough of Jewett City. State Police had obtained a surveillance video from the store after the April 12th attempt. Connecticut State Police with the assistance of a K-9, was able to track the suspect to where he resides on Ashland Street. The suspect was chased from the location by the employee on duty after the attempt to open the cash register failed. Loubier was also arrested for the burglary on Burleson Lane in Jewett City from March 27th. In that incident, Loubier is charged with 1st Degree Burglary (Felony) and 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief (Misdemeanor) and being held on a $50,000 bond which he has not been released as of yet according to court documents. Loubier is expected in court on June 27th in Norwich Superior Court at 10:00am. The bond amount listed is only for the Burglary on March 27th and does not reflect the charges from the incident at Chucky’s Mobil on April 12th. Bond set for that incident is an additional $100,000 bond.
