Intoxicated Man Arrested After Hiding In Swamp after Committing Assault

On May 17, 2018 at approximately 10:58 P.M., members of the Plainfield Police Department responded to North Chestnut Street in the Wauregan section of Plainfield Connecticut for a report of a domestic dispute.
Upon arriving on scene Officers discovered two victims who stated they were assaulted by Kevin Horton, 42, of Wauregan. Horton who violated a court issued protective order during the assault also damaged property at the residence. The victims stated Horton had fled on foot into the woods prior to police arrival.
Connecticut State Police Troop E responded to the scene with a K-9 and a track was conducted resulting in Horton being located highly intoxicated hiding in a swamp under a log smoking a cigarette. Horton was then placed under arrest and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Interfering with an Emergency Phone Call, Criminal Violation of a Protective Order, and two counts of Assault 3rd Degree.
Horton is currently being held on a $10,000.00 cash/surety bond at the Plainfield Police Department, pending his arraignment at the Danielson Superior Court, G.A. 11, on May 18, 2018.
