Illegal Immigrant Receives Max Sentence in Death of Norwich Woman

On January 8th, 2018, Jean Jacques, a Haitian immigrant who had been in the U.S. since 1996, was sentenced for the murder of Casey Chadwick. He received the maximum sentence of sixty years in prison. According to Fox61, Jacques served 17 years in prison for attempted murder. He was released from prison five months prior to the murder of Chadwick. Fox 61 also reports that ICE officials tried to deport Jacques after serving that sentence but failed.
