Troopers from Troop C-Tolland seized heroin and cash, and arrested two people following a motor vehicle traffic stop. On April 15, 2016 at approximately 6:40 p.m. Troopers from Troop C were on-patrol conducting motor vehicle enforcement when they observed a silver Saab failing to stay in its lane I-84 eastbound in the Town of Tolland. Troopers conducted a motor vehicle stop upon the Saab exiting the highway at exit 69. Upon speaking with the occupants of the vehicle Troopers determined that neither the operator nor passenger had a valid driver’s license, and that the operator provided troopers with a fake name and date of birth. As Troopers continued their investigation one hundred bags of suspected heroin were located in the vehicle. The heroin, wrapped in bundles of ten bags packaged for sale, were stamped with the word “Fatboy”. The operator, Jeremy Brooks, and passenger, James Whitehead, were taken into custody and transported to Troop C were they were processed. Brooks was held on bond and Whitehead was released on bond pending their court date. The cash, and suspected heroin was also seized and transported to Troop C where it was held as evidence.
