Griswold Man Arrested For Alleged Assault Against Voluntown Fire Fighter

On Tuesday, July 16, at approximately 5:45 PM, Connecticut State Police were dispatched to 156 Preston City Rd, Voluntown, to assist the fire department with an illegal burn at the residence. Upon arrival, it was learned that a fire fighter was assaulted while tending to the illegal burn. The fire fighter did sustain an injury and was transported to the hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries. The accused, 58 year old Keith Burns of Griswold, was arrested without incident for his involvement of the fire and the assault on the fire fighter. The accused was burning a large amount of brush, according to State Police, without permission near close proximity to a structure. Burns was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.

    WOW! This is a lie. The fire fighter assaulted this man. Man was released with no bond. This was a brush fire started by dry grass. Better take this post down!!
