Details are still being worked out at this time, but the Town of Griswold is working to partner up with Post University, which would enable town employees and their families to benefit from the educational opportunities Post University offers. If the partnership is approved, individuals who enroll in either undergraduate or graduate courses would be eligible to receive a 10 percent tuition grant. Post University offers courses at their campuses which are located in Waterbury, Meriden, Danbury and Wallingford. Online courses are also offered and would also qualify for the grant. The partnership will also grant the town employees and their families’ access to the career services department at Post University for job opportunities and career information. The town is hopeful that if a partnership is formed, it would create other educational opportunities in town, such as classes being offered at the high school or the construction of a satellite branch of the university being constructed in Griswold. A partnership with Post would in no way affect the Sacred Heart University graduate program already in place, nor is it looking to replace QVCC (Quinebaug Valley Community College” or Three Rivers. It will create more programs and opportunities available to the Town of Griswold.
