At the July 25th Griswold Board of Education meeting, the board accepted a generous donation from Wolverine Head Football Coach, Gregg Wilcox. Wilcox donated $2500 towards the purchase of new away jerseys for the team. Griswold Athletic Director Steve Cravinho stated “I’m happy that he could do that, it helps us stretch the budget.”
The cost of the new jerseys for away games is said to be approximately $5000, with Wilcox covering half of that with his personal donation alone. Wilcox led the Wolverines to a 7-3 record last season including a barn burner to defeat Plainfield in the last minutes Thanksgiving Day.
