This has probably been one of the best years in a long time for the boys soccer program at Griswold. The year showed a lot of promise with freshman injecting a completely new element to the team with players such as Dylan Freyer at Goal (7 shoutouts) as well as Evan Merchant, and Sophomores Jacob Blanchard and Ryan Fasula . How about the leadership play of Junior Matt Ladd. These players are going to be a great nucleus for quite possibly an even better 2020 season.
Unfortunately, the #18 seeded Wolverines will have to wait until next year as they were eliminated from state tournament play on Monday with a loss to #15 seeded Immaculate from Danbury (who now plays the #2 seed Litchfield), 3-1. The only GHS goal came off the foot of Senior Ashton Baltes.
