Griswold Drops Season Opener To Killingly

Tonight the season for the Griswold Boys Varsity Basketball Team got underway to a hot start taking a 10-2 lead with 4:50 left in the first quarter. Bryce Mileski went on a tear to start the game by hitting his first four Field Goal attempts. Killingly, on the other hand struggled to get anything going on offense early. Luke Desaulnier started the game by making none of his first five attempts. Desaulnier then got on a hot streak and made his next five shots to give him ten points at the beginning of the second quarter. he continued to dominate the game as nobody on the court for Griswold could stop him. Then Killingly got center Alex Fontaine involved and he made it easy for the Redmen to get points during their posessions. Fontaine was tough to cover from within 10 feet of the basket. He would finish the night with 11 points. The fourth quarter began with a close score of 38 to 34 in favor of Killingly. Bryce Mileski started the quarter with a two point jumper that would finish his scoring total at 17 points. Killingly would then go on to score over 20 points in the quarter thanks to Desaulnier and Fontaine. Killingly would defeat Griswold 55-38. The next game for the Griswold Wolverines is at 1:30 on Saturday.
