GOOD SAMARITAN WHO TRIED HELPING FEMALE OUT BY BUYING HER FOOD AND CLOTHING HAD CASH STOLEN FROM HER WALLET

On 01/04/2019 at approximately 10:20 am, Troop D Troopers investigated a larceny complaint that occurred on Reynolds Street in Danielson. The female victim came to Troop D to report that she was approached by a female, later identified as 28 year old Amber Phillips , on Main Street in Danielson. Phillips explained to the victim that she was homeless, that her mother had recently died and was going through hard times. Phillips asked the victim to take her to get coffee. The victim felt bad and took Phillips to a nearby homeless shelter. The victim then took Phillips to get food and coffee as well as buying her socks and gloves. As the victim began driving Phillips back to Reynolds Street, she noticed her wallet had been taken out of her purse and noticed that over a $100.00 in cash had been stolen from her wallet. Troopers applied for an arrest warrant for Amber Phillips which was granted for Larceny in the 6th Degree with a court set bond of “Promise to Appear”. On 02/10/2019 at approximately 5:30 am, Troopers found Phillips banging on random doors at Wyndham Landing Apartments in Dayville and took her into custody. Phillips was is to appear in Danielson Superior Court on 02/25/2019.
