The saga continues when it comes to High School Football in Eastern Connecticut. The season was supposed to kick off today for Griswold going to Windham, however, Windham has either cancelled the game or postponed the game, it’s not been made clear at this point.
The next game on the schedule is Plainfield, at PHS, with a start time of 4 PM on Thursday.
Not so fast! According to Plainfield Public Schools athletic director Jan Voland, the Plainfield Athletic season is now moving to a TO BE ANNOUNCED schedule after a Plainfield Schools staff member tested positive for COVID-19. Killingly is next in line to be played on Friday at 6 PM, at Griswold High School. According to Killingly Athletic Director Kevin Marcoux, Killingly will be here to play.
The game is going to be much different than conventional 11 on 11 Football. The game is 7 on 7, 1-hand touch. There will be no offensive or defensive line. The team will consist of a center, quarterback, and 5 eligible receivers. The game will be played on a running clock of 25 minutes per quarter.
SNSN will be carrying Volleyball and Soccer contests as well from GHS, those contests have not been cancelled or postponed.
