On Monday December 27th, 2021 Governor Lamont announced the distribution of 1 million free COVID-19 at-home test kits to municipalities across the state. The Town of Plainfield will be receiving around 1,890 RAPID test kits from the State of Connecticut, and will distribute them to the residents of Plainfield.
We plan on holding the distribution to residents on Wednesday January 5th at the Plainfield Town Hall parking lot behind the building. We will begin distribution at 11:00AM and will run until 5:00PM, or until supplies are exhausted, whichever is sooner. Please stay in your vehicle and wear a mask when interacting with staff at the pick-up location. There will be a max of 2 test kits per vehicle. Each test kit contains (2) COVID tests.
Proof of residency is required. Acceptable proofs of ID include a state issued ID or other documentation of an address in Plainfield. If individuals do not have a vehicle, walk ups will be accommodated. These test kits are for Plainfield residents only (no businesses).
We are still encouraging people to utilize the COVID-19 testing site at the Plainfield Town Hall on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 3 – 7pm and starting Jan 8th Saturdays from 10am– 2pm for PCR testing, and these events do not require an appointment.
There will also be a shipment of N95 masks that will also be distributed as needed. Details on Plainfield N95 mask distribution will hopefully follow sometime next week.
