Former Felon Arrested After Being Caught With a Firearm During Domestic Dispute

On April 19, 2020 at approximately 10:07 P.M., the Plainfield Police Department arrested 55 year old Robert Wager, of Plainfield.
Members of the Plainfield Police Department were dispatched to an address in Plainfield for a report of a domestic disturbance involving a firearm. The caller stated the male party involved later identified as Wager fled the scene in his pickup truck prior to police arrival.
While en route Officers observed a pickup truck matching the description operated by Wager and conducted a motor vehicle stop. Wager initially refused to comply with Officers orders as they approached the vehicle but was subsequently detained. An investigation was conducted where Officers discovered a rifle at the scene of the altercation. It was determined Wager was found to have been involved in a physical altercation with numerous individuals while in possession of a loaded firearm.
Wager who is a convicted felon was placed under arrest and transported back to the Plainfield Police Department where he was charged with two counts of Disorderly Conduct, Assault 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Criminal Possession of Ammunition.
Wager is being held on a $25,000.00 bond at the Plainfield Police Department pending his arraignment at the New London Superior Court, on April 20, 2020.
