Foot Pursuit Into River Leads to Dayville Man Arrested On Multiple Charges

Press release from Troop D Quality of Life Task Force:
On April 3, 2017 at approximately 1:45 pm, Troopers spotted 31 year old Jeremie Debruyker of Dayville walking on Route 101 in Dayville. Debruyker had nine outstanding warrants for his arrest, four of them felonies. When Troopers approached Debruyker, he ran west on Route 101 toward Sayles Ave and then entered a river in an effort to evader Troopers. After a brief chase, Troopers removed Debruyker from the river and attempted to handcuff him. Debruyker resisted arrest and after a brief struggle, Debruyker was arrested and transported to Troop D. Debruyker was charged with 1 count of Interfering with a Police Officer, 5 counts of FTA 2nd degree and 4 counts of FTA 1st degree and held on a combined bond of $225,000.00 cash/surety and will appear in Danielson Superior Court on 04/04/2017.
