Facebook Photo Helps Connecticut State Police Identify Suspect in Lisbon Larceny

On Monday, June 28, 2018, at approximately 4:26 PM, Troopers from Troop E in Montville began in investigation at the Ulta Beauty store located at Lisbon Landing for a report of merchandise that had been stolen as reported by employees of the store. A female suspect entered the store at around 2:50 PM and left at approximately 3:05 PM without paying for roughly $140 in men’s cologne. A picture of the female suspect was given to State Police from Ulta’s surveillance camera’s and was then posted on the Connecticut State Police’s Facebook page. Within just a few hours, Troop E received many anonymous tips confirming the suspect, 49 year old Delana Hewig from Danielson. Troopers from Troop D in Danielson then located Hewig at her residence and was issued a misdemeanor summons for 6th degree larceny. Hewig is scheduled to appear in Norwich Superior Court on July 12, 2018 to face the charge.
