Lawmakers were in Hartford for a special session on Wednesday, and voting took place on 10 bills.  “Take Back Our Grid” was the biggest item that was discussed and debated for hours.  It’s a bill that will change how utility companies are run, to create more transparency, and improve how storms are handled.

The bill will change numerous items including how companies like Eversource and United Illuminating are regulated.

This session and discussions are reflective on how utility companies handled the damage from Storm Isaias in August.

The bill passed 136-4
