Elections Give Boards and Commissions New Looks in Griswold

By now we all know that as a result of the latest elections, a lot of boards and commissions in Griswold have a different look to them…. For example, there are 2 nw Selectman, Rich Grabowski and Jared Picco that were elected to terms on the Board, The Board of Finance has a new chairman in Brian Baker, replacing Scott Davis…. Also, the Griswold Board Of Education has made some changes as well with a new Chairman and Vice Chair. Mary Beth Malin will now serve as the Griswold Board of Education Chairman replacing previous chairman Attorney Stuart Norman and Yvonne Palasky was voted as the new Vice Chairman of the Board. The Board meets every other Monday at the Griswold Middle School in the Media Center. Regarding the new board, Griswold Superintendent of Schools Sean Mckenna stated in an email, “I am honored to continue working with the Griswold Board of Education as we focus on doing great things for students, their families and caregivers, and the town of Griswold.”
Although the Board of Education meets every 2 weeks, they won’t have another meeting until January 14th. However, DPAC or the District Partnership Advisory Council has a meeting this evening, December 5, 2019 at 7 PM. Scheduled attendees will be State Representative Brian Lanoue and First Selectman Todd Babbitt.
