Early Morning Crash in Voluntown Sends One to Hospital

Raymond Durand, 36, of 70 Hagstrom Road, North Grosvendordale, suffered serious injuries at 3:08 a.m. Saturday morning, when his 2000 Subaru Impreza failed to negotiate a curve on Pendleton Hill Road near Johnson Road, went off the road and struck a tree. The vehicle sustained major damage to the front and passenger sides of the vehicle and was towed from the scene.
Durand was transported to Backus Hospital with suspected serious injuries.
Connecticut State Police have the accident under investigation.
